About Te Kura Reo

Kura Reo are facilitated throughout the motu and is an intense week long total immersion wānanga that was launched in the Raukawa takiwā in 2007.  The programme is primarily aimed at uplifting the knowledge and capability of Te Reo Māori speakers.

Te Kura Reo o Raukawa is held every year in Tokoroa and is structured around the use of grammar, comprehension, translation, idiom, tikanga and a host of other language exercises. People are put into groups based on their level of competency and confidence. We provide a very high calibre of te reo Māori tutors who are among Aotearoa’s best and form an integral part of the driving force behind the revitalisation of our language.  They also bring with them years of experience across a broad range of Māori topics.

The wānanga is open to all people able to learn in an immersion environment. Each student receives a workbook that covers material to be used throughout the week.
