Entitlement to register
Subject to the rules set out in the Raukawa Settlement Trust Deed, the Trustees must enter in to the Tribal Register any person:
- a) By or on behalf of whom a valid application has been made; and
- b) Who in the reasonable opinion of the Trustees affiliates to Raukawa through descent from a primary ancestor of Raukawa and affiliates to the Marae recorded on his or her Registration Form in accordance with the Deed.
Affiliation to Marae
It is recognised that many can whakapapa to more than one Raukawa Settlement Trust mandated marae, however for registration purposes you must designate one primary marae.
Spouse/Partner
If your spouse/partner can whakapapa back to a Raukawa Settlement Trust marae, then he/she will need to complete an application form. A spouse/partner who is unable to whakapapa back to one of the 16 mandated Raukawa Settlement Trust marae can NOT be entered on the register.
Issue (Ngā Tamariki)
A separate form must be completed for all applicants including minors. Parents or Guardians may complete an application on behalf of minors. Those who are 18 years or older MUST complete their own enrolment form themselves. Beneficiaries under the age of 18 will be registered but not for voting purposes.
